The short version: we collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and we built Hearth so that the most important data never leaves your home in the first place.
Who we are
Hearth is made by New Standard Technology, Inc. ("New Standard," "we," "us," or "our"). We make AI hardware and software designed to keep your data private and under your control. Questions? Contact us at hello@newstandard.ai.
What we collect and why
When you join the waitlist or newsletter
We collect your email address. We use it to send you product updates, announcements, and news about Hearth. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send. We do not share it, sell it, or use it to build a profile on you.
When you reserve a Hearth
We collect your name, email address, shipping address, and payment information. Your payment is processed by our payment provider. We do not store your full card number. We use your contact details to process your reservation, keep you informed about your order, and handle any support you need.
When you visit our website
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site: pages visited, time spent, and general location by region. This data is aggregated and anonymous. We do not use it to identify you individually.
When you use Hearth at home
This is the important part. Your Hearth device stores your AI conversations, your preferences, your files, and your family data locally on the device in your home. That data does not go to our servers. We do not have access to it. We do not want access to it. That is the entire point.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
- We do not share your information with advertisers.
- We do not build behavioral profiles for marketing.
- We do not use your data to train AI models without your explicit consent.
- We do not send you marketing emails from third parties.
Who we share data with
We work with a small number of service providers who help us operate: our payment processor, our email delivery provider, and Google Analytics. We only share what is necessary for them to do their job. We will share your information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of New Standard, our customers, or others.
How long we keep your data
We keep your email address for as long as you are on our waitlist or have an active reservation. We keep your order information for as long as required for legal and accounting purposes, typically seven years. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
Your rights
You have the right to see what personal information we hold about you, correct information that is inaccurate, ask us to delete your information, opt out of marketing emails at any time, and request a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@newstandard.ai. We will respond within 30 days.
California residents
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information. For any CCPA requests, contact hello@newstandard.ai.
Residents of the European Economic Area and UK
If you are located in the EEA or UK, our legal basis for processing your personal data is your consent (for the waitlist and newsletter) and the performance of a contract (for reservations). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Our website uses cookies for analytics and to remember your preferences. You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Some features of the site may not work correctly if you do.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will notify you by email if we have your address and update the effective date at the top of this page.
